It is a part of the scope in this project to review the Water Pollution Control Law related regulations, including the Water Pollution Control Law Implementation Guideline, Industrial Wastewater Pollution Control Management Regulation, related permit regulation, Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) management regulation, industrial category definition etc., and revisions of the related forms in response to the latest Water Pollution Control Law Amendment publicized on May 22, 2002. The water system data bank will be made available to public information request, as well as for the industrial reporting data abnormality screening, the calculation and analysis of unit pollutant in green GNP. The information acquired provides valuable reference for EPA policy management planning. In order to follow the electronic trends, it is also required in this project to build the Internet website for industrial water pollution management information system to effectively improve the communication between EPA and local EPB in terms of data timing and consistency. The project has also completed building a routine inspection reporting system that will save time and manpower needed for the approval process. The information system will be routinely maintained and updated to assure its data bank’s quality.
